Susan Recarey was introduced to the John Maxwell Team by her daughter, who was interested in joining the Team as a founding member.  Susan spent about a year following John Maxwell and his teachings and decided to join a year later, in September of 2012.

Susan has always been interested in personal growth, and that was her main purpose for joining the Team.  In fact, she wasn’t planning on using the teachings provided by the Team as part of her business at all; she simply wanted to grow more as a person.

The more involved Susan got with the Team, the more that changed.

Susan has been in the real estate business for over 44 years, and coaching has been a part of her life since the early 90’s.  As her awareness expanded with the things she was learning from the John Maxwell Team, she came to realize that there are so many people who need others to speak into them and into their dreams.

When she joined Mentorship about a year after joining the Team, she started focusing more on the sales and coaching content available to her as part of her membership.  As she began to apply these teachings, she started to see a substantial increase in her real estate sales income. At the same time, she was able to start charging for sales coaching, expanding her business even further.  Now, she coaches all types of people, in sales and in life.

Susan’s lifelong interest in goal setting, visualization, and living on purpose led her to the Wheel of Life early on in her time as a JMT member.  She has since begun to develop this tool as a foundation of her business. She has used it for talks at service organizations like Rotary, the Chamber, and Professional Women’s Organization. It is also the basis of the first workshop she ever created for a State Convention and is a consistent part of her coaching practice.

In all her work with other people, Susan’s biggest advice is to follow your passion and take action quickly.  She emphasizes that adults learn best by doing, so don’t wait to learn everything first. She truly believes that just two or three years can make an unbelievable difference in your career and what you can accomplish with the tools provided by the John Maxwell Team.

Susan knows this first-hand, as the business she had been involved in for decades took an amazing turn when she got involved with the John Maxwell Team.  She says, “Real estate is my occupation, but training and coaching is my vocation.”
